Lough Derg has been a pilgrimage site for 1500 years. We created a symbol that contained three key elements: the pilgrims travelling by boat, the cross and the lake depicted by the swirl, which is also the Irish letter 'D'. Known in Irish as the red lake, we used this to determine the logo's colours.
